Q. How is what you do different from other behavioral
programs?
A.
Our mission is to teach the family. In so doing, we help you learn the skills needed to think and problem solve on your feet when you need it most; during the daily interactions with your child.
You also learn how to promote continuity among all of your child’s routine environments (home, school, therapy, etc...). Our philosophy is that children with ASD’s learn best when all service providers, including family members, are working together in a structured, systematic way. We teach you how to incorporate all facets of your child’s therapeutic regimen (behavior, speech, OT, PT, cognitive skills, etc...) into comprehensive and fun activities that can be integrated into your everyday routines.
Q. Do you do therapy with my child?
A.
No. We provide no direct therapy services.
Q. Then who actually works with my child?
A. We teach you, and any other persons designated by you (siblings, grandparents, babysitters) how to work with your child. You are the most important and influential person in your child’s life. When you gain the knowledge to help your child, you become your child’s most priceless asset
.
Q. How much do your services cost?
A. Our rates are highly individualized based on your wants and needs. We offer everything from month-to-month arrangements with no long-term obligation to 12 month retainers with monthly installments. We can be highly involved with every aspect of design, maintenance, and monitoring of your child’s program; or merely an occasional supplement to an existing program. With this in mind, our rates range from $100-$475 per month.
Q. I don't know where or how to begin. How do I get started?
A. Contact us through this web-site or by phone and we will set up a free consultation time. We will talk with you about your concerns and together we will explore options that might work for you and your family. We will then send a Family Support Plan for you to complete. This plan will help you identify your child's strengths, weaknesses, likes, and dislikes; as well as your hopes and expectations for your child. Gathering these thoughts on paper will help us develop a clearer picture of where we are going and how we plan to get there by helping us understand how to motivate your child as well as how to best maximize your family's existing resources.
Q. My child is totally out control and I feel overwhelmed. How on earth can I ever make a difference that matters?
A. You will be amazed at the kind of person you can become because of, not in spite of, your child. Our services are only as good as our ability to help you understand this concept.
We are here to help you when you struggle, to encourage you when you falter, and to celebrate with you when you succeed.
And, as always, our goal is to speak to you in practical terms that you can use and understand.
